Fall is Here! :) Zyrtec Beauty Tips to Combat Allergy Face

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Zyrtec for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

"Autumn...the year's last, loveliest smile."

~William Cullen Bryant

Autumn is by far my favorite time of year! To me, it's even more beautiful than Spring; the colors, the crisp feel in the air, the warm festivities approaching, I just love it. This week I've noticed that we are finally moving into the Fall season, and I couldn't be more excited! There is only one flaw to this almost perfect time of year: the transition itself. When the season's change, they bring with them a brand new set of allergies to face--it's most obnoxious. That's usually how I can tell that Fall is coming--my eyes get dry, my nose and sinuses stuffy and runny, my throat turns into a toad each morning, and my face and skin break out in random patches of itchy redness. It's not even close to Christmas and I already look like Rudolph.

Thankfully, we live in an amazing technological era of the world where we are provided with tools to counteract these nasty allergies, one of which is a wonderful little antidote, ZYRTEC®. ZYRTEC® is the #1 allergist recommended brand among OTC oral antihistamines. It provides fast* allergy relief of your worst allergy symptoms of sneezing, runny nose, itchy watery eyes, and itchy nose and throat, caused by indoor and outdoor allergy triggers such as dust, mold and pet dander, tree pollen, weeds and grasses. Check out Zyrtec on Facebook for more!

When I was in London many moons ago, I encountered an entire country filled with new allergies that I was not prepared for, especially seen by the lovely red hives that would form from everything that I touched; fortunately, one of my peers was kind enough to share Zyrtec with me, and it was amazing! It really helped with my congestion and with my hives, and I could actually enjoy my time abroad rather than spend it in a sinus-induced fog, hiding my red itchy skin from photos. It was great.

So, not only does ZYRTEC® help you FEEL better, but if you check out their website there are TONS of beauty tips for helping to combat Allergy Face  beauty challenges (remember how I told you about my Rudolph nose when allergies hit?) Check out this great video all about Allergy Face!

I've always known that other women out there suffer from allergies, but it seems like I was the only one that LOOKED like I have allergies--turns out that is SO not true! Two-thirds of women feel ugly/unattractive because of of their allergy face. In fact, over 58% of women have been told that they look like they're "coming down" with something, simply because of Allergy Face--50% of women have actually MISSED going out because of this. My favorite, is that 53% of women wear "allergy disguises"--isn't that nuts? I know personally I've kept concealer in my jeans pocket, so that every time I blow my nose from my allergies, I could quickly cover my bright red Rudolph nose before anyone could ask me if I'd been crying, or if I'm sick!

What I Wore: First Day of School

I started school this past week at the Art Institute! It's so exciting--so far, I am just loving it, it is everything I could ever want, and it's just so much fun! Anyway, my dear husband is such a sweetheart, and reminded me that it was my "first day of school," so just like back in elementary school, we needed to take pictures. :)

This is my lovely school pack I got for my program--when they told me to go downstairs to pick up my "supply kit," I had no idea I would be receiving an entire suitcase!

It came with all sorts of goodies--I'm so excited to start using them! :)

Well, I'd better get back to work--I have some homework I need to finish--can you believe that? I have homework again! I'm such a nerd, I love being in school! :)

What I Wore: A New Chapter

Since marriage, I have spent a lot of time pondering over the future and what direction my husband and I wish to take our new life. In the end, I have decided... drum-roll please... to go back to school! :) Crazy, but things just fell into place and worked out so well, and suddenly I find myself enrolled at the Art Institute studying my passion and dream, Fashion Design!

I signed up to have the school send me just some information and pamphlets--just to check it out--but one of the advisers actually called me, and I was so impressed I set up an appointment for a private tour. We did that on a Monday, came back Tuesday to meet with the financial department, and I suddenly found myself registering that Thursday--it all happened so fast, but so exciting!

For orientation, I went for a safari theme--this lovely Mikarose khaki dress and cheetah-print tights, ring, bracelet, and earrings:

My little girl just loves the camera--she can't let me take pictures without her. :)

Sewing Machine Cover

I was visiting my mom a while back to see her new sewing lesson room; first of all, it is beautiful! (I'll have to get pictures, it's so cute) Second of all, I was very impressed by all the sewing machines lined up in a row, covered nicely with sewing machine covers. I haven't really sewn much since I got married (sad story, I know--I am in the works of remedying that), and decided that my machine definitely needs its own personalized cover to keep it clean and safe.

I looked for patterns to make one, but couldn't quite find one that would fit my machine or what I was really looking for. My goal was to make a cover much like my Cricut machine cover (made by my amazing little brother for Christmas a few years back--isn't that just the sweetest Christmas gift ever??); however, I wasn't really sure how to do it, but I attempted it any.

Basically, I just measured my machine (height, depth, length), added a bit for seam allowances, and well--just fit it around the machine the best I could. I actually didn't have any fabric big enough to make a cover either, so I pieced together various scraps that I had--in the end, I think it turned out pretty cute:

The sewing machine design seen here is actually a quilting paper pieced pattern I found on sewhooked.com (she's got lots of really cute designs).

Next up, a cover for my serger--wish me luck! :)

What I Wore: Color Block Dress

So, turns out I really haven't sewn much since I got married--my husband pointed this out the other day (he's never seen me actually make a dress--he's just seen all the things I've made, but never seen the process)--I know that getting married is definitely a whole new phase in life and it's taken a while to get used to things, but I didn't realize how much I miss sewing! We went to the fabric store and my husband helped me pick out some fabric and I got to work--and here is the finished product:

I finished it just in time to wear it to the wedding of my husband's friend--What can I say, I'm still a little girl at heart, I just love dressing up. :)

Pioneer Day Boutique

For Pioneer Day last month, I took a chance and applied to be in Provo's Pioneer Day Extravaganza with the items I've created for my shops, Bluebird Blossoms and Tinkeranniebelle--and we got in! So, my husband, brother, brother-in-law, Christian, and I headed down early that morning and set up our very own booth  for the day (P.S. Best family ever, these awesome boys helping me out on my big day).

So, here is our lovely booth (I was so glad I had the boys' help--I couldn't have set all that up without them):

To your right, our lovely hair clips:

And to your left, aster and peony hair clips, as well as some beautiful flower, yo-yo, and zipper headbands:

A tower of earrings:

Up front, our beautiful necklaces:

And, my personal favorite, Shabby-Chic Head-wraps and Fabric Flower Blossom Rings, Earrings, and Bobby Pin Sets:

My amazing husband and brother-in-law spent the entire day prior to the 24th building all of our displays--I especially liked the CD displays and the wood displays for my rings and earrings--they are very creative. :)

The boutique was a success, and we got a lot of positive feedback. In fact, the woman in charge of the Farmer's Market in Provo approached me and asked me to come and participate with my products. :)

Of course, most of all, it was just a ton of fun--I got to spend all day with my most wonderful husband and awesome bros! :) And it was a ton of fun meeting different people and sharing my passion and creativity with them. My favorite of the entire day was my very first customer, and little girl who couldn't have been more than 7 years old. She came to our booth several times eyeing a fabric flower ring; she finally got the guts up to talk to me about it, when her mother came by and told her she needed to make sure she looked at EVERYTHING at the fair before she purchased anything, so that she made sure she made the best choice. A little while later she came back and said "I just have to have this ring." :)

Another fun thing was seeing one of my best friends from high school, Talisa! I haven't seen her in years--probably since high school--so it was really great to catch up with her and her sisters.

Overall, it was an awesome day! :)
